Another great article!

More and more I have been gravitating to farmland to detect. Sometimes You don’t get a signal right away, but when you do, it’s probably going to be more interesting than a picked over schoolyard. Sometimes you may even come across an arrowhead or something like that while walking. Articles like this inspire us to try new things.

I’m also just getting started and trying shallow Creek detecting to see if that turns up anything.

Thanks again. John Tewell

Thanks John,

Farm fields do offer a lot of chances to score some great finds. Where I live and the surrounding area was once populated by Native American tribes. So farm fields here typically give up many Indian arrow points and colorful small beads that were used for dress and jewelry.

In addition, both the French & Indian War and the American Revolution went through this area. So often found in those same fields are military relics and British coins.
