Ya Tom, I have spoke often about enjoying the research because not every treasure search leads to the goodies. But often, researching a treasure can and will lead to another adventure..
That is every detectorist's dream. Most of us shoot ourselves in the foot with poor research.
Winter in cold States can be a good time to track down lost sites and treasure at librearies, and local historical societies. PS. If you liked the series, there is a new "Detectorists" movie out.
Thanks Mike, actually I will be speaking with Rick and getting his approval for me to write what the treasure was and where it was found. I need to protect his personal info. So, some of the details will not be given. And everyone reading should understand why. The follow-up will be posted for "Paid" subscribers to read.
Gotta love the research, that's almost as much fun as the hunt :)

Always nice to hear these stories. Gives me some incentive to do more metal detecting.
Okay Bob, now get out there. No excuses.

Thanks,
" Did he give you a gold or silver coin for your additional research?"
